Curse advantage:
Some monsters near the end of the game have the ability to poison your character. If the poison is not cured, it sometimes turns into a curse. However, your character can fight more powerful opponents without getting killed while cursed.

Extra money:
Wait until the village appears in the bottom left corner during the opening sequence. Press A(2) on controller two and Start on controller one.
